​Grad Transitions​

Graduation Transitions is a mandatory course for graduation by the Ministry of Education. The course requirements are completed outlde the regular school timetable.  The course includes four sections:​
1.  Career, Nutrition and Health Assignments.  These are normally completed during the Planning 10 Course which the student takes in Grade 10.
2.  30 Hours of Work or Volunteer Experience in the Community that has been documented through their schools Work Experience Office.
3.  DPA Record of 150 minutes per week
4.  A Transition Plan, "The Moving on Package" -  This is a Career Package that has students:
  • look at career and life goals  
  • develop an educational plan
  • develop a support network of individuals to assist them
  • develop an employment plan (short or long term)
  • create a budget to accompany the route they plan to take the year after graduation
  • identify a list of employability skills they have developed 
  • create/update a resume for future work and scholarships
  • organize reference letters for future work and scholarships
  • Create a cover letter  for future work and scholarships
  • Create a Thank you letter
  • Gain interviewing skills ​
