Grad Transitions 2018

ISFELD GRAD TRANISITION SPREADSHEET
Isfeld GT Spreadsheet.pdfsorted by student number  Updated June 14, 2018

If a cell has an 'X' in it, that means that the student has fulfilled that portion of their Grad Transition Plan.

If a cell is blank, that means the student has not submitted the required paperwork or completed that portion of their Grad Transition Plan.

Planning 10 - this column reflects our records regarding student completion of Planning 10

Community Connections -

  1. a numerical value less than 30 reflects the number of documented hours that have been submitted to the Career Centre
  2. a numerical value equal to 30 means that the Career Centre has received partial paperwork in fulfillment of their Community Connection hours (ie. a student has submitted their employer report but maybe missing their student report).

Post Secondary - this column references completion of pages 3 and 4 of the Grad Transition booklet.  If a student was not present at the Post Secondary Information Sessions held on September 21, 2017 they must still complete the pages by going onto the website of any post secondary institution and researching some highlights of what they learned.

GT Booklet - this column references completion of pages 5 to 19 of the Grad Transition booklet.

Cover Letter - this column references submission of a current cover letter to the Career Centre (sample on pg. 21 of the Grad Transition Booklet)

Resume - this column references submission of a current resume to the Career Centre (sample on pg. 22 of the Grad Transition Booklet)

Thank You Letter - this column references submission of a thank you letter written by the student to someone in their life (sample on pg. 23 of the Grad Transition Booklet)

Reference Letter - students are no longer required to submit a reference letter as part of the Grad Transition Package.  Instead, students are required to fill out the Reference Letter Template on page 24 of the Grad Transition Booklet.  The Template is a tool that students may use in the future when requesting a reference letter from someone.  As such the student should fill out the template as if they are requesting a reference letter from someone (ie. for a job, university application, scholarship or bursary application).

Exit Interview - when all other components of the Grad Transition Plan have been completed, students may arrange for an exit interview with their TA Teacher.  When an interview has been scheduled, the student and/or teacher may come down to the Career Centre to request a 'pink' exit interview form and grad folder.  Upon completion of the exit interview the grad folder and 'pink' sheet must be returned to the Career Centre for processing.

The week of January 25th-29th, 2016, the staff and students of Mark R. Isfeld will be preparing for end of Semester One. Monday to Thursday will be regular school days where all students are expected to attend. As well as regular classes, this week will be used to write provincial exams, mid-terms / final in-class assessments and to provide all students grades 8-12 with time in their school day to catch up on the first half of their linear course or to complete their semester one courses. In an effort to accommodate provincial exams there will be no TA the week of January 25-29. More information can be found in the attachment.

Friday, January 29th will be an "I" day for all grades. Any student who is missing assignments / learning outcomes, or who is not passing classes will be required by their individual course teachers to attend on Friday.

As well, Grade 12 students are expected to have their Grad Transitions completed and handed in by January 29th. Any grade 12 student who is not finished grad transitions should be in attendance on Friday, January 29th. These are requirements for graduation and worth four Graduation Credits.

Two Non-Instructional Days for this year will be as follows:
