Numeracy Assessment for all Grade 11 Students Who did Not Write in January
All of the exams will be written online and partially on supplied booklets.    What is the Numeracy Assessment? "The Numeracy Assessment is a new provincial assessment and a graduation requirement for students on the 2018 Graduation Program (all students except for this year's Grade 12s). Students will write the assessment during their graduation years (Grades 10–12) at the most appropriate time for them. Unlike the retired Mathematics 10 Provincial Exams, the Numeracy Assessment is not tied to a specific math course. Rather, it evaluates a student's numeracy skills developed over the course of their education.  Results will be reported using a four category proficiency scale and will appear on a student's transcript as a number, representing one of the four categories (emerging-developing-proficient-extending) (Ministry of Education, 2017)."

You may write this assessment up to 2 more times before the end of grade 12.

If you are a grade 10 and interested in writing, sign up with Brenda Hunt in the office.

The following link will take you to a number of resources to help you prepare for the exam.  It includes instructional videos and a link to a sample numeracy assessment.

Not Returning to Mark R. Isfeld Secondary?
Please advise the school if your child will not be returning to Isfeld for September 2018, even it is a "maybe".  It is very important that we have accurate information regarding our student numbers to plan for staffing and change in class sizes.  Thank you to those families who have already informed the school of their plans.
